Malibu jury returned a defense verdict in favor of our clients, a wine manufacturer and a supermarket chain. Plaintiff alleged she developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome as a result of a bottle falling from a free standing wine display, which she claimed was poorly constructed and unstable. Defendants maintained that the display was stable and built appropriately, and that plaintiff caused the bottle to fall. Her demand at trial was fourteen million dollars. Plaintiff appealed the decision, and we defended the defense verdict before the Court of Appeals. The Court agreed and the defense verdict was affirmed.
